The ligaments of the intervertebral space (L3-L4). The supraspinous ligament runs between the tips of the spinous processes. In the elderly, the ligament may be heavily calcified.The interspinous ligament connects the spinous processes.
The ligamentum flava run between the inferior, anterior surfaces of the superior lamina to the superior, posterior surfaces of the lamina below. The subarachnoid space is separated from the ligamentum flava by the dural membrane. Note the presence of the potential subdural space.
